For many people, the greatest musical of them all, West Side Story still has that timeless ability to delight, enthral and amaze in equal measure in a riot of colour, song and spectacular dance. Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, the story of the gang culture and social cultures between the warring Jets and Sharks is turned into a glorious spectacle by Leonard Bernstein’s amazing score with numbers like Tonight, America, I Feel Pretty, A Boy Like That and Cool. Stunning and beautiful.
